A few weeks back, a reader suggested that it was difficult to find series because of the way my blog was organized. So I started searching around and...wow. It was really disorganized.
So now, after many hours of housekeeping, we have a much better organizational system.
Along the right-hand side in "Labels" you will notice far, far fewer than before. We used to have 163 labels on this blog, and were very inconsistent with applying them. After the housekeeping, I now have 20 general labels and 15 "series" labels. This should make it much easier for you to find your way around.
For some of you newer readers, you might check out, for example, some of our older series which are quite good but were finished long before you started reading and (due to the prior organizational method) remained buried. (In particular, I recommend the series on Cognitive Biases, A Christian Ethic for Life, Social Networking, and Suzerain Covenants. I think all of those will be of interest to relative newcomers and probably haven't been read by them.)
Anyway, I will try and stick to this going forward so that it is easier to find things around here.
In addition to the series-specific labels (all of which begin with the term, "Series"), the following General labels will be used to tag articles:
About this Blog: meta-posts related to our purpose or organizational updates (such as this one)
Advent and Christmas: thoughts relevant for the lead-up to Christmastime
Biblical Culture and Context: primers on how people at the time of the Bible thought and viewed the world
Biblical Inspiration and Hermeneutics: how the Bible was inspired and how we should read it
Bioethics and Pro-Life: my thoughts on protecting life (more than just anti-abortion)
Business and Vocation: posts about living our faith in the business world
Church Organization: posts about what to look for in a church, and how they should be organized
Difficult Passages and Contradictions: clarifying passages which often bother people
Family and Parenting: reflections on family life as a Christian parent
Fate and Free Will: reflections on God's will, our wills, and how they interact
Grace and Law: discussions of the Gospel and how it is not the Law
Guests Posts: posts I have made on other sites, or others have made here
Politics: discussions about American politics
Pop Culture and Sports: references to movies, sports, television, and other pop culture phenomena
Prophesy and Eschatology: understanding prophesy and the end of time
Psychology and Christianity: how our brains work, and how that affects us as Christians
Quotes/Book Reviews/Reflections: quotes of others and my thoughts on them, as well as reviews of books
Science and Philosophy: all things science, science fiction, and philosophical
Suffering and the Problem of Evil: articles regarding the suffering in the world around us
I hope that helps!
It's too bad Blogger doesn't have a more developed [tiered] labeling system :/
